GHG Calculator

On the initiative of the banking associations and financial companies of the three Baltic states, a greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions calculator has been developed to help companies assess the CO2 footprint of their activities. The tool is available free of charge to companies, public sector institutions, research institutions and other organisations.

  • The GHG emissions calculator is available free of charge here (.xlsx)
  • The user guide for the calculator is available here (.docx)

Other GHG calculators available in Estonia

In addition to the banking associations' calculator, several other free GHG emissions calculators are available in Estonia, which can be used to assess both a company's scope emissions and building-based emissions.

Ministry of Climate – commissioned by the Ministry of Climate, a GHG footprint calculation model for organisations has been developed.

The GHG calculation model can be used by all organisations (from the public, private and non-profit sectors) that wish to assess their GHG footprint at the organisational level.

•       The GHG calculation model and user guide are available here.

Ministry of Regional Affairs and Agriculture – commissioned by the ministry, a GHG footprint tool created for Estonian agricultural businesses has been developed.

The tool is suitable for assessing the carbon footprint of businesses engaged in crop production, animal husbandry or mixed farming.

•       The GHG footprint tool for agricultural businesses and the user guide are available here.

Tallinn University of Technology (TalTech) – has developed open-source GHG measurement tools, intended for use by all companies and organisations.

The tools are suitable for measuring a company's GHG footprint (the OKAS tool) and for assessing the carbon footprint of buildings (the SARV tool). The tools rely on the Estonian emission factors database (EHEA).
